Motor Neurone Disease - MND
My Name’5 Doddie is the name of the Charity I am raising funds for – link here: www.myname5doddie.co.uk
The money the Foundation raises goes directly to helping fund research into Motor Neurone Disease and investigating potential cures. Importantly, the Foundation also provides much needed support to sufferers of MND and their families with grants to ensure they live as fulfilled a life as possible.
The support the Foundation has received so far is incredible due to the love and warmth felt toward Doddie Weir along with the many people who have also been personally affected by this terrible disease. I have met countless people since embarking on this challenge who have also sadly been personally affected by someone close to them diagnosed with MND. It makes me more determined to do what I can to raise money to help find a cure, fund research into MND and support those diagnosed with it. Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me so far: your support is invaluable.
Some highlights of where the money donated to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation so far has gone include:
The Foundation recently committed £400,000 to MND Research at King’s College London with more investment in further research projects in the pipeline. In addition, they have given £100,000 to MND Scotland and a similar amount has been promised to the MND Association to help people affected by MND. Links for further details can be found here:
